For us, sustainability and economic success go side by side. We are committed to taking environmental responsibility by implementing a range of measures in the area of energy.

From the sourcing of our raw materials all the way to the final product, we place the highest priority on environmental friendliness and social responsibility. We rely on innovative solutions and technologies that enable us to use resources efficiently and minimize our environmental impact.

Electric Mobility

  • All internal transport equipment is already electric.
  • All forklifts and automated storage systems are equipped with energy recovery systems.
  • All chargers for industrial trucks have been upgraded to energy-efficient HF technology.


Clean Electricity

With our 1,200 kWp photovoltaic system, we generate more electricity than we consume over the course of a year.

During the night, we draw electricity from 100% hydropower. Our electricity supplier is certified as 100% carbon neutral.

Sustainable Building Technology

  • Conversion of the entire building ventilation system to a modern system with energy recovery
  • Building fully insulated to the latest standards
  • Energy-efficient underfloor heating instead of ceiling radiators in all warehouses
  • All lighting is LED
  • Daylight-dependent automatic control of warehouse lighting, resulting in a further reduction in electricity consumption
  • Gas-filled air conditioning system was replaced by a chilled water system and cooling sails

Waste Disposal

All waste is sorted and sent for recycling by type.

Plastic film and cardboard waste are baled to reduce the number of transport trips.

Printing waste (waste paper) is collected in dedicated containers, baled on-site, and recycled (provided the material allows it).

Outer Packaging

  • Disposable particleboard pallets have been replaced with locally produced pallets made from recycled cardboard.
  • Filling material for shipping boxes consists exclusively of recycled paper.
  • Pallet wrapping machines have been replaced with pre-stretch systems—resulting in a significant reduction in film usage (up to 400% pre-stretch!)—the next step is to test alternative films
  • The film thickness used in the wrapping machines has been significantly reduced—resulting in a significant reduction in film consumption—the next step is to test alternative films
  • Bundling machines for packaging have been converted from plastic straps to paper straps


Label Production

  • Label Production
  • For paints and varnishes, plastic containers have been replaced with 200-liter steel drums
  • Printing is 100% carbon neutral
  • Where available, paper is FSC or PEFC certified.
  • The roll size of the paper purchased has been increased (larger capacity on the printing press)—therefore, more paper fits on a pallet—resulting in fewer transport trips and less waste (roll ends).
  • Packaging for printing consumables (ink containers, etc.) is reused or recycled.

Workflows

  • All new computers are energy-efficient SFF PCs
  • All internal processes (order picking, goods receipt, invoice filing) are paperless
  • Provided the customer permits it, invoices are sent electronically
  • Provided the customer and the authorities permit it, certificates are sent as PDF files
  • Customs clearance for parcel shipments has been digitized and is now completely paperless

Charging Infrastructure

  • There are 8 AC charging points (22 kW) and 2 DC charging points (300 kW) available on the premises.
  • At 2 AC charging stations and the DC charging points, the public can charge their vehicles using all standard charging cards, via QR code, or with a credit card.
  • The electricity for the charging stations comes from our own PV system or is purchased from 100% hydroelectric power.

Sustainable Climate Protection

ETIVERA Verpackungstechnik GmbH is a partner of ARA and thus makes an important contribution to active climate protection. ARA ensures that the packaging for ETIVERA Verpackungstechnik GmbH’s products is collected and recycled in an environmentally responsible manner. Overall, the separate collection and recycling of packaging waste in the ARA system results in annual CO2 savings of approximately 500,000 tons across Austria. And that provides lasting relief for our environment.
